It's a German cruiser with BB sized guns, and German cruisers also get the 1/4 HE penetration. I got a Graf Spee and the new cruiser tree has a skill that buffs HE damage. I am not even close to being a top-ranked player. I'm not going to claim this is optimized or competitive. Which is not normal for a carrier however that one has good secondaries for what they are. I ended up with one remaining handful of points when all plane related skills were picked. When I configured the GZ B, All of the skills were to planes. Do you really want to risk this salvo glancing off or overpenetrating when you have maybe 10 seconds to live?īut I really only play PVE. That went away with the CV Rework a few years ago. After you factor in angling, dispersion, reload time, I find it's just more reliable than AP in most cases. It's obviously not as good as a Bismarck, but the secondaries on the Nelson aren't bad.'īig HE can't citadel all ships, but it can citadel a lot of cruisers and even against other BB it can penetrate almost all the armor everywhere except the citadel, and HE doesn't overpenetrate. Varying these components changes how the shell performs when it smacks into something hard. I do use a secondary build with it, but I primarily love the big guns with the 1/4 british HE penetration. ![]()
